The Traditional Sprint Car division is a featured division at St. Croix Valley Raceway and of the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series. These sprint cars are fabricated from the ground up with tubular frames and high tech suspensions. Engines run on methanol and are mostly 360 cubic inches with a two barrel carburetor. They produce between 400 and 450 horsepower.  Race fans will enjoy their signature style of "backing it into the corner" to find the fastest way around the track. Drivers must be 15 years or older. Cost, $6,000 and up.

Micro Sprint

Whether you are 12 years old or 70 years young, Micro Sprints are real race cars. Micro Sprints are a smaller version of a sprint car and a great way to get started in open wheel racing. They are chain driven and have high tech suspensions. Utilizing a 600cc motorcycle engine they produce 115 horsepower and run on methanol. Weighing in at about 775 pounds, with driver, Micro Sprints can reach speeds up to 90 mph. Minimum driving age at is 12 years old. Cost: $2,000 and up.

Future IV

The Future IV division provides a great opportunity for new racers to get on the track. These front wheel drive, four-cylinder cars are inexpensive to buy and even less costly to get race-ready. Don’t let their diminutive cost fool you. Their front wheel drive “drive trains” make them nearly impossible to spin out and provide some of the best three and four wide racing you’ll ever see! Drivers must be at least 14 years old. Cost: $1,000 and up.

Wissota Midwest Modified

Wissota Midwest Modified division is an open wheel car based on an O.E.M. production frame. They sport aerodynamic rear body structures, high performance V-8 engines and racing rear ends. They run on pump gas, racing gas or ethanol and weigh a minimum of 2600 pounds. Drivers must be 16 years with some exceptions. Cost: $6,000 and up.

Pure Stock

The Pure Stock division is a step up from the Future IV division. The Pure Stock division allows the new racer another economical choice to go racing. They utilize a stock production frame, body, transmission, suspension and a mostly stock 305 cubic inch engine. These cars started life on the streets but now have new life on the track. Drivers must be at least 14 years old. Cost: $1,500 and up.
