TRICK OR TREATING, MONSTER (truck) AND TRAILER RACES HELP CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN IN SEPTEMBER AT ST. CROIX VALLEY RACEWAY

On Saturday, September 13, St. Croix Valley Raceway (SCVR) will give new meaning to trick or treating door-to-door with its annual Crash Tastic Smash-O-Rama/Halloween in September event.

Imagine for a moment this nightmare scenario: You've contemplated and planned the perfect Halloween costume. When the big day arrives, you don your costume and head out early to score all the best candy. But every door you walk up to is welded shut.

But this is no nightmare; in fact, it’s not even a dream. It’s perfect! It's not yet Halloween, but it feels like Halloween, the Fourth of July and Christmas all rolled into one. All of the doors are welded shut because you're not going door-to-door around your neighborhood; you're going door-to-door around your neighborhood racetrack – trick or treating amongst race cars. Well, at least that's the case if your neighborhood racetrack is St. Croix Valley Raceway and it's September 13.

Whether you’re age 3 or 93, anticipation is building for this huge event! Fans of all ages will have the opportunity to go trick or treating – in costume – (car)door to (car)door on the racetrack as SCVR’s race car and trailer race drivers generously dispense their goodies. And that is just the start – prize giveaways will occur all night long.

Requisite to any Crash-Tastic/Smash-O-Rama is destruction. Serious destruction! One of the funniest methods of destroying things is with a Trailer Race. Cars and trucks towing boats, campers, living room sets, outhouses...just about anything you can imagine – and the drivers set out on a full contact oval barrage of mayhem and hilarity. With just three simple rules (be safe, have fun, and wreck stuff), the trailer race will leave you in stitches and the race track in shambles. Upping the crash-ante will be the “Demolition Devil”, Scott Turkiewicz as he attempts a school bus jump and starts himself on fire! And just to make sure everything is smashed to its fullest extent, Kaila Savage and her 'Trick 'r Sweet' monster truck Heart Breaker will be in the house to do what monster trucks do best – make lots of noise and smash-o-rama things. Heart Breaker is on tap for 3 separate crash-tastic freestyle sessions throughout the evening on a mission to crush as much steel as Savage-ly possible.

The Northern Vintage Stock Car Racers will be on hand, and once again the winners of the vintage feature races will immediately “re-gift” their winning trophy to a young fan chosen from the grandstands. Joining the vintage racers, regular weekly competitors in the Future Four/Minivan, Pure Stock and UMSS Micro Sprint divisions will race for the final trophies of the 2014 SCVR season.

Start planning a costume now to get a head start on Halloween at St. Croix Valley Raceway. Gates open at 5:00, event starts at 6:00.

When you throw racing into a blender with treats, costumes, giveaways, bent steel, monsters and monster trucks – you get a can't miss event.
